Have you ever seen invasion of the body snatchers?
You have? Good.
Well I think I've figured out why we have such a problem with management. They're actually aliens. When soimebody gets promoted or takes a job in management they are obviously substituted by an alien which takes their place. The original being quietl disposed of. Not being used to earth ways they obviously struggle with their jobs.
Keep watching the skies :>>
Now before you think Ive completely lost the plot whats happened today.
Well its the first 12hr shift (730am-730pm) of the week. Not being a morning person the first half hour is a bit blurry but nothing really happened. We went to sit in a carpark and watch people drive to work.
First job of the day. A 3 year old boy. Reported to be sweaty, lethargic and not really with it. Now that could be anything so we went to see what was what. As per normal when you get there the situation isn't quite how it was discribed. Although this time it was quite close. The boy was very with it but told me he wasn't feeling good. His parents described what had all the hallmarks of a hypo (Hypoglaecemic episode-low blood sugar) so we tested his blood sugar. Sure enough it was quite low so we gave him a chocolate biscuit and Coke for breakfast. It didn't really bring it up so we took him in to Hospital. He had had the runs for a few days so that may have been what caused it but even so he was the youngest Hypo I've ever seen.
Queing again at A&E. I think we spent about three hours out of a twelve hour day waiting for a bed. Its not the hospitals fault and its not our fault. We cant leave the patient untill they are on a hospital bed and due to clever accounting they don't go onto theyre stats until they get onto a Hospital bed. Still its the age old story; too many patients not enough resources to treat them with. You get what you pay for.
2nd job of interest was a 92 year old chap who had rammed a lampost with his car. We arrived and he was standing on the side of the road chatting to some bystanders. We asked him what happened and he gave his version of events. As we walked him to the ambulance I was grabbed by a bystander who gave a somewhat different version. I.e that the chap had passed out at the wheel.
Hmm. We took him in because We thought he probably had passed out. He had had a heart attack quite recently and he had just come from the swimming pool where he had done 16 lengths 8|. Yup thats what he said.
We saw him walking out of A&E later so obviously they had given him a clean bill of health but I don't think he'll be driving again. Shame.
Then we went to see a man who had been found collapsed in his garden. The street was full of people all very helpful. The mans front room was also full of people.
But nobody knew anything. Nobody saw anything. The man himself didn't know what had happened. It was all third hand. We took him in because it was obvious that he wasn't coping at home on his own. Also we couldn't get a straight answer what had happened
Lastly we went to see man who was complaining of dizzyness and nausea but he had a long history of medical problems one of which was cancer of the tongue. He'd had it removed but he could talk really well. I was impressed.
Thats it for today
